Organisers have announced that the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show will be held over two days in August this year. This is a ‘one-off’ to allow social distancing.
In normal years, the show attracts around 25,000 people. Current plans will cap attendance numbers at 4,000 each day and strict number controls will require pre-purchase of all tickets.
Show secretary James Cox says tickets prices will be reduced and he explains why the event must revert to one day in future years.
James also tells us that some of the competitions have been cancelled but entertainment events are going ahead. There will be a new approach to local food and produce.
