Blackmore Vale Art Trail Will Put Motcombe’s Comic Carvings On The Map

The Blackmore Vale Art Trail starts on Saturday, and residents and visitors will be able to visit around thirty artists at their homes and studios.

They will be able to view and purchase their work. The trail was arranged by Shaftesbury artist Karren Burkett. She was dissatisfied with the amount of promotion and level of preparation for this year’s Dorset Art Weeks.

James Saumarez’s carvings

James Suamarez carves wooden characters in his Motcombe shared. He explains how he developed his creative talents, later in life than most artists.

The Arts Trail runs until 5th September.
