The Shaftesbury Arts Centre Gallery reopens today.
The changing exhibitions provide a valued ‘shop window’ for many artists, and the rental of the gallery space brings vital income for the not-for-profit, volunteer-run Arts Centre. Gallery manager Kate Pickard tells Alfred’s Jon Corry how the artists’ sales support the arts and entertainment venue next door.
Kate has been busy rescheduling postponed exhibitions, which isn’t easy. The gallery is well-booked, with shows in the diary as far ahead as 2024.
