Shaftesbury Schoolgirl Inspires Gran To Write Charity Fundraiser Book

Three pupils of Shaftesbury’s Abbey primary school, Noah, Bella and Abel Rose, joined their grandmother as she handed over a £1,500 cheque at Shaftesbury Julia’s House charity shop yesterday.

Anne Kings wrote ‘Button Cottage Lockdown’ when her granddaughter Bella became anxious over the restrictions in the spring. Anne explains how the book evolved from a wordplay game she devised to entertain Bella.

Anne has appeared on ITV’s Sunday morning breakfast programme ‘Sunday Best with Martin and Roman Kemp’ five times following the success of the book. Bella says she is proud of her Gran.
