A Million Dorset COVID-19 Jabs Given – But It’s Terrifying Some Under-Thirties

The millionth coronavirus vaccine dose will be administered in Dorset today, according to GP Dani Farrell GP.

She spoke at Wednesday’s Dorset Council Health and Wellbeing Committee meeting, where attendees heard that Dorset COVID-19 case numbers are rising. Sam Crowe of Public Health Dorset says it is of concern, but local computer modelling anticipated more positive test results following the relaxation of some social meeting restrictions.

The Exchange at Sturminster is being used for vaccinations

There are concerns that under-thirties are less likely to have the jab. Yesterday, Blackmore Vale GP Practice appealed to Shaftesbury area patients to attend the Exchange in Sturminster Newton for the Pfizer vaccination following a number of ‘no shows’. Dr Farrell told the meeting that she had seen some younger patients who were terrified by what they’ve read on social media and have been ‘close to fainting’ at vaccination centres.
