On Friday, the Donkeys and Shetlands Last Home sanctuary began regular Wednesday, Friday and Sunday opening.
For the first time volunteers, like Jayne Bowes, are welcoming visitors who call in to meet the 23 donkeys and Shetland ponies. Visitors can buy cream teas or donkey-related art and souvenirs.
The charity’s supporters have stepped in to help Michelle Coffin. She has transformed the fields next to her home of 54 years into an animal sanctuary. She pays tribute to her late husband Richmond, who passed away earlier this year. Michelle and helpers are determined that Rich’s legacy will live through the care and attention the volunteers offer their animals.
You can visit at 28 Sherborne Causeway on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays between 11am and 2pm.
