The number of new coronavirus cases in the Dorset Council area has risen over the last seven days to 6th September.
The case rate has gone up to 329 cases per 100,000 people – just below the English average of 353 cases per 100,000 people. There were 1,251 actual cases reported in the Dorset Council area, an increase of 233 on the previous week.
Our report includes the infection rate for Shaftesbury and the villages. The local covid death rate and the number of hospitalised patients has risen slightly in the last week but remains significantly lower than during the peak last winter.
