Armed Police Take Part In Shaftesbury Operation

Dorset Police has confirmed that armed officers were involved in an operation in Shaftesbury yesterday.

They can’t give specific information but say their officers were carrying out inquiries linked to an ongoing investigation. Dorset Police says that there was no risk to the wider public.

Police vans and unmarked police cars lined up in the car park outside the Half Moon Inn during the morning. Eyewitnesses later reported heightened police activity on the land to the south of the A30, opposite Allen Road.
