Shena Kozuba-Kozubska is running her second London Marathon this weekend at the age of 71.
She suffered two critical horse-riding accidents during her successful career, which started with an appearance at the Badminton Horse Trials in 1969. Four years ago, Shena nearly died. She came off a horse in her home village of Donhead St Andrew, suffering severe injuries. Shena woke up four weeks later in Southampton General.
She wants to raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance as a ‘thank you’. And Shena has an important message for young riders who are putting themselves in grave danger with social media riding stunts.
