71-year-old Donhead St Andrew runner Shena Kuzuba-Kozubska says she was discouraged from finishing the London Marathon on Sunday, even though she was ready to continue ‘toddling’ around the circuit.
Shena first ran the marathon 30 years ago. Her movement was more restricted this time. In 2016, she almost died following a fall from a horse in the village.
Shena was fundraising for motor neurone disease research, Horatio’s Garden at Salisbury Hospital and to thank Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance for saving her life. She has exceeded her fundraising target, as you’ll hear.
Shena explains what happened on Sunday, twenty miles into the circuit.
