Be prepared to change your plans if you commute to London or you intend to visit the capital for social or entertainment reasons from Monday.
South Western Railway is reducing services from Gillingham and Tisbury. From the 17th of January, a train will depart once every two hours. The operator says it is a temporary move due to staff absence from covid.
But Shaftesbury-based Roy Mitchell from watchdog The Salisbury to Exeter Rail Users Group doesn’t buy South Western’s excuse. Roy tells Alfred why he thinks that’s ‘rubbish’ and he explains what his ‘furious’ group intends to do about this unexpected change.
