Patients are verbally abusing Blackmore Vale Medical Centre staff who work on reception or answer telephone calls. Practice manager Sara Froud says some workers have quit and that’s not acceptable.
Now offending patients have been contacted and warned that they could be banned.
During the last year, there’s been a 30% increase in telephone calls to the practice, which takes in the Abbey View Medical Centre, Fontmell Surgery and Sturminster Newton Health Centre. Sara tells us why they’ve changed the way in which your call is handled.
Sara explains what the medical centre can and cannot do. You should not telephone for repeat prescriptions or visit the surgery expecting stitches, she says. And Sara tells us why some patients have been advised to get their covid booster jabs elsewhere.
