Reverend Donna’s Real-Life Experience Will Help Meet Shaftesbury CofE Challenges

Shaftesbury has been without a vicar since the Rev Dr Helen Dawes left almost one year ago. Rev Donna Gibbs will take up the vacant team rector position on 1st March.

Donna says she has useful experience as a single mum, and working with HIV patients, the elderly and ambulance crew during her 23-year NHS career. She wants to work closely with younger residents and better engage with The Maltings. Donna’s stepdaughter lives in a new home in the east of our town.

In our extended chat, Donna tells Alfred, “I’m hoping my experiences will make me more accessible to people. I’m hoping people will see that I’m a down to earth woman.”
