A volunteer supporting self-isolating Shaftesbury residents who need food or medicine deliveries during the coronavirus crisis has stressed that help will still be available in the coming weeks.
Woodturner and artist Darren Wheeler has been rebuilding his business following last Easter’s devastating fire at West Melbury Business Park. During the lockdown, Darren has been volunteering, supporting self-isolating Shaftesbury residents. He’s joined the Supporting Shaftesbury project, a joint initiative between Shaftesbury Town Council, Blackmore Vale GP Practice and Shaftesbury Civic Society.
Darren’s concerned that, as lockdown eases, people who he feels should continue self-isolation might be encouraged to go shopping for themselves.
