Shaftesbury is one of ‘the best places to live in 2021’, according to a report by national property company, Garrington.
They ranked 1,372 towns on a variety of scoring criteria, including proximity to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and we came 42nd overall. Shaftesbury was ranked 13th in terms of architectural appeal. Bath topped the list. The number of listed buildings is one of the factors determine this rating.
Architect Brian Watts, from Proctor Watts Cole Rutter architects, tells Alfred why we should celebrate Shaftesbury’s architecture.
