Shaftesbury Man Will Run London Marathon To Thank Brain Injury Charity

A Shaftesbury man is running the London Marathon to raise cash for Headway, the charity that helped him recover from a car crash that changed his life.

Luke Hicks was in a coma for six weeks following a head-on road traffic collision as he drove to university in 2005. He suffered several serious fractures and complications led to Luke’s brain injury.

Rehabilitation staff helped him walk and talk again. Determined to regain his fitness, Luke trained for a marathon. He has now completed 62 marathons.
