Shaftesbury Mental Health Movement Headstrong Goes From Strength To Strength

Three friends who met in Shaftesbury School founded the town’s mental health support movement Headstrong. They are keen to promote the important role fitness plays in mental wellbeing.

One of the group’s founders, Alex Bowery, tells Alfred that Monday’s inaugural social running event went well.

Headstrong has partnered with a Northamptonshire rugby club to create documentaries which share honest accounts of the players’ mental health challenges, as Alex explains.

The next running challenge will be 7pm on Monday outside Shaftesbury Town Hall.
