The Shaftesbury School boarding house at Barton Hill can accommodate 104 pupils. A combination of COVID-19 and Brexit means that they are down to around 50 students.
Head of the boarding house, Craig Knowles, is offering local parents a chance to make use of this spare capacity. Local students will be able to stay over if their parents are working away. And pupils can be looked after, assisted with homework and fed between 7am and 7pm if required.
Craig says the boarding house has hired a public relations firm. He explains why in our interview.
