Shaftesbury Town councillors have maintained their view that the former glove factory site is not appropriate for housing.
On Tuesday evening, the Planning Committee objected to an application to build five homes on land next to the Fire Station on Wincombe Lane. Last autumn the developer requested permission to build six homes there.
Meeting chairman John Lewer said, “It’s going the way of all applications. When you can’t get twenty houses you then go in for five and go down until you get what you want.”
