Shaftesbury’s St Peter’s Church Plans Scarecrow Festival

St Peter’s Church in Shaftesbury will celebrate harvest time with a scarecrow display.

John Hunt tells Alfred why the church team has chosen this unusual decoration for a place of worship. You’re being encouraged to make a scarecrow and take it to the church for the event on the 2nd and 3rd of October.

The weekend activities tie in with a soup or ploughman’s lunch on the Saturday at noon at the church hall at the top of Gold Hill. The harvest festival service takes place at 9.30am, Sunday 3rd October, at St Peter’s.
