Wiltshire Police Advise Walkers On How To Remain Safe Near Cattle

Wiltshire Police’s rural team has issued advice for local and visiting ramblers who cross fields of cattle.

The force quoted national figures which reveal that 98 people have been killed by cattle in this country in the last 21 years, although three-quarters of fatalities have been agricultural workers.

Wiltshire Police says most members of the public who have faced problems have had dogs with them. The police guidance explains what to do when walking with pets or when you feel threatened by an approaching herd.
