North Dorset Nature – Episode 38

Our weekly programme devoted to wildlife in Shaftesbury and the villages, presented by Dee Abbott.

On this week’s show:

  • Dee has been out and about Shaftesbury to discover what nature and wildlife we should be looking out for over during December.
  • Nick Crump chats to Tom Perrett about the incredible range of beaks in the bird family. The beak is mainly used for food gathering and processing, but it has many other uses as well.
  • Mary Myers sets us ten questions to test our knowledge of wildlife.
  • Wendy Reid is in the process of restoring her pond in Motcombe. She visits Marilyn Morris who lives near Sherstock to learn about creating and maintaining a pond and sees that Marilyn’s pond is not entirely wildlife-friendly.
