Veteran Pro Footballers Play On Shaftesbury’s New 3G Pitch On Sunday

The new Shaftesbury Football Club artificial pitch gets put to the test for the first time this weekend.

As club vice-chairman, Nick Crane explains there are two games on Saturday and something special on Sunday. At 12 midday on the 1st August, a group of veteran players including ex-professional Southampton player David Peach, and Phill Barry, who turned out for Chelsea, will get a game in.

“It’s great to see that quality football is going to be played on the pitch and now we’ve got the surface that allows for that,” said Nick.
