Chamber Of Commerce Agrees Better Way To Promote The ‘Bottom Of Shaftesbury High Street

Several Shaftesbury Chamber of Commerce members are concerned that visitors may be missing out on the High Street’s independent shops beyond Muston’s Lane.

Recently, cycle racks were installed at the top of the High Street but no provision has been made around Angel Square. That’s added to a feeling amongst some traders that this area is overlooked. Chamber chair Virginia Edwyn-Jones has suggested a campaign to promote shops between ‘The Narrows’ and Salisbury Street.

The ‘Angel Square Quarter’

Chamber vice-chair David Perry owns Shaftesbury Wines in the area that the chamber will now refer to as ‘The Angel Square Quarter’. David says special promotions are planned in conjunction with the Tourist Information Centre.
