Shaftesbury’s mayor says he’s pleased that Bell Street supermarket has been bought by Richard Whittemore’s family-run convenience store and garage business.
“I’ve looked online at the company. They seem to have rave reviews from their customers,” said Andy Hollingshead.
The Town Council submitted a £500,000 bid for the old Co-Op store in 2018. The so-called ‘Project Belle’ would have developed the site for the community and to support new businesses.
