Staff working in North Dorset’s essential businesses are not being given reasonable access to COVID-19 testing centres, compared with residents elsewhere in Dorset. That’s the view of Shaftesbury’s Tourist Information Centre manager.
The TIC is open each lunchtime to sell electricity and gas top-ups. David Taylor’s volunteers were accepted for the community testing programme, but David’s been informed that there are no testing sites within North Dorset.
Whilst he says he is grateful to Public Health Dorset for their work, he says his unpaid helpers can’t be expected to make a return trip to Sherborne, Wimborne or Dorchester each week for testing.
Public Health Dorset hasn’t responded to our request for comment, yet.
