The Bell Street supermarket has been empty since 2017. A family business, Elite Garages brought the building for just over £650,000 in an online auction earlier this year.
That business is owned and operated by father and daughter Richard and Kelsie Whittemore. Their plans include a vehicle garage or workshop at one end of the site and a convenience store at the other. But there’s a lot more space that could be used.
Perhaps you have ideas for the type of products you’d like to see sold here in the centre of town. You might have suggestions for the use of the rest of the street level or upstairs space. We will pass on all of your messages to the Whittemores and they’ll be answering your questions in an Alfred broadcast next week.
