DPD delivery lorries tore down Shaftesbury’s High Street bunting on three occasions last week. That’s never happened before.
Shaftesbury Chamber of Commerce volunteers weren’t pleased. The Chamber paid for the homemade bunting. The flags, in Fringe colours, were designed to ‘lift’ the town and add to Shaftesbury’s visitor appeal as our town bounces back from the recent disruption. Chamber volunteers had to climb ladders and put the bunting back up – twice.
But Chamber chair Virginia Edwyn-Jones has been singing DPD’s praises. She says the way the delivery company dealt with the Chamber’s complaint was a masterclass in good customer relations.
