Shaftesbury Store Closes After 14 Years But There’s Interest In The Shop Unit Already

Shaftesbury’s bead and charm retailer The Beadster has closed its Gold Hill store permanently.

The owners say they have not taken the decision lightly, after nearly 14 years of trading in the town, but ‘times have changed’ and ‘there’s no longer a demand for a physical presence’. The business is moving online.

It’s unlikely that the unit will be empty for long. Gold Hill Museum owns the property – Sun and Moon Cottage. Museum chairman Elaine Barrett told Alfred there’s already an interested party in discussions with the museum.
