Shaftesbury residents took a guided tour to witness the rejuvenation of Breach Common yesterday.
They walked down a reopened, sunken holloway and heard why Shaftesbury is blessed with so many of these ancient walking routes. And the group discussed theories about WW1 practice trenches on Breach Common.
In our interview, Friends of Breach Common organiser John Rutter shares the project’s future goals. He hopes that a new, traffic-free right-of-way can be formed to link the common with Duncliffe Hill.
