Solar Farm Will Destroy Motcombe’s ‘Breathing Space’ Says Villager

A Motcombe villager wants your support in his campaign against a proposed solar farm.

A 91-acre solar array is being proposed by investment and asset management company Low Carbon on a site between the village and Ham.

“It would destroy our local breathing space between Gillingham and the Motcombe,” said Greg Clinton. He is the Motcombe resident living nearest to the proposed development. Greg believes that the site will be both ugly and noisy. He is urging locals to contact MP Simon Hoare if they object to the proposal.

We asked the North Dorset MP for his view on the Fern Brook Farm Solar Farm project. We have also asked the solar farm company’s representative if they would like an interview. They have not responded to this request as yet.

Motcombe Council wants to wait to view the formal planning application before it replies.
