Take Part In New Shaftesbury Area Wildlife Survey

A major new local wildlife survey has launched, and you’re being asked to help map the biodiversity of Shaftesbury, Semley, Motcombe, Melbury and The Donheads.

You’ll be asked to tell the volunteers about the birds, mammals or reptiles you notice on your doorstep and list the range of landscape and garden features near your home.

Alex Chapman

Alex Chapman, from the Shaftesbury Nature and Wildlife group, hopes that hundreds of residents will take two minutes to fill out the online form. He tells us why this survey is important and reveals which species he’d love to see recorded by locals.
