From Thursday, you will be able to see some incredible, previous-unavailable archive film footage of Shaftesbury in the 1930s and Fontmell Magna in the 1980s.
It’s part of an online Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire film festival. The week-long event has been arranged by the Windrose Rural Media Trust.
Director Trevor Bailey tells Alfred his organisation was established 36 years ago. “We now have an enormous archive of material dating from the 1910s onwards,” he told us.
Trevor describes some of the films that might interest Shaftesbury-area residents. You’ll be able to watch the films on the trust’s website here.
