Alfred tours the refurbished Shaftesbury Abbey Museum to see how the visitor experience has been enhanced ahead of their reopening.
Chairman Pete Ryley explains how his team has taken advantage of lockdown to make some big changes.
The volunteers’ new way of exhibiting artefacts will better convey the history and sense of the scale of the destroyed Abbey church, which is considered to have been larger than Christchurch’s Priory.
Pete talks about a new display, which shows how nuns lived, and changes to the outdoor area which will interest chefs and gardeners. Pete also talks about Shaftesbury Abbey’s proposed reopening plans.
