St Marys School Artefacts And Historic Documents Find A New Home

Artefacts from St Marys School have been taken to York.

The former school, which went into administration last year, was founded by the Congregation of Jesus Trust. Dozens of old pictures, newspaper cuttings, works of art and chapel decorations will be catalogued at their Bar Convent in York.

Dr Hannah Thomas is special collections manager. “There was a van and a trailer which appeared outside our door. We didn’t quite know how much was coming,” says Hannah.

She tells Alfred which items have excited and interested her the most.
