The Victorian Theme Park On Shaftesbury’s Doorstep –The Larmer Tree Gardens Story

Larmer Tree Gardens have reopened, and you can visit from Sunday to Wednesday.

In 1880, landowner Augustus Pitt-Rivers created an 11-acre attraction which was filled with visitors who had travelled from across the south and Westcountry. They came to enjoy an incredible choice of free attractions and activities.

Head Gardener Andy Rampton tells the story of the gardens and explains where the name ‘Larmer Tree’ comes from.
