Abbeyfield Chairman Urges Councillors To Consider Elderly Residents Before Deciding ATS Site Proposals

The chairman of Shaftesbury’s Abbeyfield sheltered accommodation is urging Dorset planners to amend a proposal for eighteen homes on the former ATS site next door.

“It’s been the most stressful experience of my life,” says Barbara Yoxall. Barbara is not against the re-development of the land, but she is desperately worried for the safety of her residents if vehicles have to share the current Abbeyfield access road.

She wants Shaftesbury and Dorset councillor, Tim Cook, to support her in Tuesday’s planning meeting. Barbara says the development’s access road should be switched to the former ATS entrance.
