Last night’s Shaftesbury Town Council Planning meeting was cancelled hours before it was meant to take place. It would have been inquorate – too few councillors were able to attend.
Members were set to discuss Dorset Council’s request to close the B3091 along Bimport and St John’s Hill for six days for drainage works. The Town Council did not support the request for the work later this month. They were unclear about access arrangements for the ambulance station, Castle Hill nursing home and the hospital.
Now, Dorset Council has rescheduled and will undertake the work to make the most of the extended daylight in summertime.
