A couple who wants to build a new eco home, so they can retire to Shaftesbury, has launched a planning appeal.
Dorset Council refused plans for the five-bedroom house with a detached garage on Breach Lane. Planners believed the new build, next to Shaftesbury Home Grown, would have a detrimental impact on the rural character of the area. They said it represented ‘an undesirable extension of developments into the open countryside and slopes surrounding Shaftesbury’.
On Tuesday, Shaftesbury Town Council decided to raise no objection to the planning inspector, mirroring their original response to the application last July.
