Shaftesbury’s Neighbourhood Plan looks likely to go to the public vote in May.
If the majority of locals back the blueprint for development in a referendum, the plan’s policies will be adopted. As the guidelines reflect locals’ wishes, planners will then need to consider them when assessing future planning applications.
Cllr Phil Proctor told Tuesday’s Planning meeting that he would like the plan to promote better cycling, walking and driving links between Shaftesbury and St Mary’s School, now Dorset Council has purchased the site. He tells Alfred that he wants the town to operate the sports field, sports facilities and pool. And that is why Phil wants improved access.
