Councillor Explains Why Dorset Council Wants To Increase Your Council Tax Bill

Dorset Council wants to increase the amount of council tax we pay for the next financial year, starting in April.

A band D property would pay around £85 more if the budget proposal is approved on Tuesday.

Cllr Gary Suttle explains why he believes this increase is necessary. Gary also reveals how Dorset Council has reduced an expected £42million budget shortfall to around £18million.

Your council tax bill could still increase further. The Police and Crime Commissioner wants to add £15 to fund more police.
