How well do you think Dorset Council performed during the pandemic?
Around 4,500 people work for the local authority, and on Tuesday, councillors will hear that staff carried on working throughout the lockdowns.
Some officers were redeployed. For example, some Shaftesbury Library staff were sent to marshal motorists at the Wincombe tip. The Council say that only 2% of working days were lost due to employee absence linked to COVID-19. But the pandemic has cost Dorset Council £15m from its reserves.
Councillors will debate their response during the Cabinet meeting next Tuesday. Find out more in Sarah Bunt’s audio report.
