Locals Object To Polo Pony Business Plans For Semley

Plans for an agricultural development and polo pony training business in Semley have met with opposition from villagers and some parish councillors.

Photographer and film director Patrick Drummond wants to place a mobile home for an agricultural worker on his land at Lower Marshes Farm. He also wants to erect a horse walking arena and replace a dilapidated barn.

Several residents have raised planning objections over the size of the barn, noise, access issues and light pollution. Some locals have doubted the viability of the proposed business and have made allegations over what they believe to be the applicant’s future plans for the land.

One parish councillor told the meeting of his discomfort with the level of ‘vitriol’ expressed. Wiltshire Council has the final say.
