Melbury Councillor Says Dorset Planning ‘Needs To Get Its Act Together’

Dorset Council is taking too long to process planning applications. That’s the view of Melbury Abbas and Cann Parish councillors.

In their meeting earlier this month, Cllr David Webber claimed that some other parish councils feel the same way. It is understood that the authority has a backlog of two months. Straightforward applications should be determined in eight weeks.

Dorset Council has responded to the parish council’s criticism and tells Alfred that the delay is partly down to unprecedented demand.
