Motcombe Council To Debate Floods – Claims New Shaftesbury Estate Is The Cause

Motcombe flooded again yesterday, just days after water poured into homes overnight on 21st October.

Parish councillor Rich Craigmile toured the village with Environment Agency officials yesterday, Sunday. It’s thought recent estate and home building in Shaftesbury could be part of the problem.

Cllr Craigmile says the Parish Council will address flooding concerns in a meeting at 7pm on 9th November. Listen to our report, where he shares some of his ideas.

Helen Taylor sympathises with residents who have been flooded. She lives in The Street near the village shop. Helen has suggestions how residents might be encouraged to do more to tackle climate change, a cause of increased severe weather events.
