Shaftesbury Council Agree To ‘Put The Phone Down’ On Abusive Calls From Public Or Councillors

Recent allegations of bullying have prompted two Shaftesbury councillors to propose a system for logging complaints about aggressive or offensive email or telephone communications.

Councillors approved the plan, which informs staff or elected members that they may terminate inappropriate phone calls immediately – whether it’s a ratepayer or a town councillor on the other end of the line.
