Back in the spring, Dorset Council said they’d hire more staff to deal with the backlog in planning applications and land searches.
They have made changes to speed things up. They now expect people applying for planning permission to post their own notices advising neighbours of proposed developments. But residents and businesses are still having to wait much longer than expected for a planning decision.
Now, one of Shaftesbury’s Dorset councillors, Cllr Tim Cook, has offered to intervene on behalf of applicants fed up with the delays.
