Shaftesbury Councillors Complain About Lack Of Consultation Over Pedestrianisation Relaxation

Seven Shaftesbury Town councillors have written to Dorset Council to express their disappointment at not being consulted before changes to the High Street pedestrianisation were announced.

They are Cllrs Tim Cook, Piers Brown, Alex Chase, Phil Proctor, Andy Hollingshead, George Hall and John Lewer.

Cllr Piers Brown tells Alfred that the weekly working party, which discusses the temporary closure, was unaware that Dorset Council was opening the street for buses.

They only learned what was happening when they read a press statement on the Dorset Council website on Friday 28th August. The service started on Tuesday 1st September.
