Last night, 21 community groups shared over £15,000 in grant awards made by Shaftesbury Town Council.
Several organisations will be getting 50% of their requested sum because they didn’t follow the application rules on the amount groups are eligible for. Cllr Piers Brown said he didn’t want to reject those bids outright.
Some groups have enjoyed free hire of the Town Hall for meetings. That will end. Instead, all local not-for-profit groups will be eligible for 50% off the booking charges with additional bulk-booking offers in place.
Alfred was awarded around £2,200 towards our FM radio service set-up costs. Find out who else was lucky in our report.
