Shaftesbury Town Council Debates Budget Cuts To Reduce Your Council Tax By 85p

Shaftsbury town councillors want to trim £2,700 from next year’s budget.

Cllr Piers Brown encouraged colleagues to agree a 0% increase in the town council’s proportion of the Dorset Council tax demand.

Councillors decided where the money can be saved, but Cllr Tim Cook questioned the wisdom in changing the budget proposals to save each household 85p over the next year.

Councill will vote on the amended budget on Thursday.
